Suicide Awareness and Prevention Training

Monday 01/23/22 10AM - 12PM via Zoom

The Samaritans, the organization dedicated to preventing suicide in Massachusetts, will host a workshop for all FCR staff on recognizing the warning signs and knowing how to support someone experiencing suicidal thoughts. In the United States, more than 47,000 people die from suicide each year, making it the 10th leading cause of death in the US and a public health crisis (Centers for Disease Control, 2019). Early intervention is critical to saving lives. This workshop will provide participants with the tools to effectively recognize warning signs, and strategies to help anyone who may be struggling.

Watch for a Zoom link from Nicole Modes in January. If you would like to have a private conversation with Nicole about this topic prior to the event, please don’t hesitate to contact her.

This important workshop is mandatory for all FCR staff. If you are unable to attend, please speak with your supervisor.
